The Talbot is a beautiful riverside coaching inn in the heart of Malton. Our dedicated Wedding venue is the adjoining York House which will be exclusively yours on your wedding day.

York House is an impressive 17th century home reputedly where Charles Dickens wrote many of his novels.

With its own private riverside grounds, beautiful reception rooms, privacy, exceptionally good food & its own wedding marquee seating up to 150, The Talbot can ensure that your wedding day is faultless. We work with many of the best suppliers in the industry and will be able to support you with planning your perfect wedding.

Our wedding menus offer a variety of options in a relaxed dining setting, with a focus on more traditional dishes and sharing foods as an alternative to a formal wedding menu.
Taking advantage of everything Yorkshire’s Food Capital has to offer, we can offer a more relaxed dining experience with sharing platters, a hearty Yorkshire roast and plenty of unique touches from around the region. Or for those who love to live the Champagne lifestyle, we offer champagne, canapés, a bespoke menu with wine and coffee, plus evening pizza or hog roast. A traditional experience with all the frills.

With 26 bedrooms at The Talbot we have a variety to choose from - all individually designed. Our room types are Cosy, Good, Big, Excellent and Family. With four poster beds, super king size beds, marbled bathrooms, twin rooms and beautiful views you’re spoilt for choice.
