Situated in the heart of midlothian Melville Castles Ballroom is licensed to hold ceremonies for up to 150 & Wedding Breakfast up to 70 guests. Our contemporary marquee & gardens can hold ceremonies for up to 200 and Wedding Breakfasts up to 200.

Situated in the heart of midlothian and a doorstep away from Edinburgh is the beautiful grade II listed Melville Castle, one of the regions most popular wedding venues. With 54 acres of parklands and enchanting woodland and history dating back to 1786, it’s easy to see why this hidden gem is loved.

The Castle itself boasts an impressive mile long driveway through the woodland which is sure to impress guests as soon as they arrive, as well the castle itself with grand state rooms and are Licensed for civil ceremonies. You can say I do in The Ballroom, a natural light filled space that lends itself perfectly to any colour scheme or style. The room features large period style windows and classic portraits. The space can accommodate up to 150 guests for your ceremony.

After your grand entrance down our staircase, the viscount room is an ideal place begin celebrating your marriage, with an atmospheric drinks reception. As guests mingle and enjoy the views you can slip away to capture some photographs within the grounds.

Following on from your drinks reception, you can head into our majestic contemporary Marquee with chandeliers and adorned fairy lights ceiling and enjoy a wedding breakfast of your choosing, freshly prepared on-site by Melville Castles talented team of chefs.
