County Down is a beautiful Northern Irish county containing both the southernmost point of Northern Ireland (Cranfield Point) and the easternmost point of Ireland (Burr Point). County Down contains two significant peninsulas: Ards Peninsula and Lecale Peninsula. A fun fact about this area is that C.S. Lewis was inspired by the Mourne Mountains to write his book that was later adapted into a film series The Chronicles of Narnia. Also if you are a Game of Thrones fan, County Down provided several filming locations and you can now take a studio tour in Banbridge. If you’re looking for a city wedding County Down contains parts of Belfast as well as Lisburn and Newry each of which are also in other counties.
