The Oakhouse Hotel Wedding Venue

That is what the Oakhouse is all about! As an exclusive use venue, our hotel and 10 beautifully appointed bedrooms become exclusively yours for the duration of your wedding day. Enjoy the benefits of your very own private house for your celebrations! You can also continue the festivities into the morning with a private breakfast with your staying guests on site. Your exclusive hire runs from 11am on your wedding day, until 11am the following day! We are exceptionally pleased to also offer picturesque private grounds and gardens as an optional addition to your booking which are perfect for drinks receptions and photographs in the warmer months, including marquee weddings for up to 120 guests. Why not break up your day with a marquee wedding breakfast and then a cosy, relaxed evening reception throughout the hotel once the sun goes down.

Yes we are, we are licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 90 guests in our Oak Room or you can choose to have a blessing conducted by a celebrant over in the Courthouse Gardens. If you were hoping for a church wedding then this St. John the Baptist church is right next door to us so we really can accommodate any of your preferences on ceremony.

Although we are currently not licensed for civil ceremonies outdoors there is nothing stopping you sorting out the legal arrangements in advance and then having a blessing ceremony in the gardens with a celebrant. This is becoming an increasingly popular option for couples that wish to make their ceremonies unique and special rather than follow the more formal legal requirements and wording in a legal ceremony.

We have a wide selection of drinks and wine available on site so would ask that you source your beverages through us directly. If a particular wine is not on the menu then we can gladly source this for you.

We offer in-house catering only at the Oakhouse but please rest assured that we can cater for all desires on menu options! Our talented chefs are more than happy to work with your own ideas.

Access to decorate the venue begins at 10am on your wedding day, however an extension to this can be arranged with prior notice and some further discussion.

We are licensed until midnight, however are happy to discuss extension options with you if you are particularly keen on finishing later.

We do ask that you are respectful of our neighbours, however as the hotel is exclusive to you and your guests we do not have in-house residents to keep the noise levels down for so that adds an element of flexibility.

This is certainly something that we are open to discuss for our Courthouse Gardens area upon the necessary licenses and agreements with the local council and residents.

Yes, we ask that you use a natural, dried-petal variety of confetti that is kind to the environment.

Yes, we allow candles at the hotel. These do not need to be the LED variety and we are more than happy to light these for you on the day or can supply them at a small additional charge if you wish.

Yes, our bridal suite is provided with our compliments to all of our couples for their wedding night as part of our flat fee venue hire charge when building a bespoke wedding or within our all-inclusive packages that are available to book. The bridal suite is the perfect backdrop for your bridal preparation photographs and a romantic escape on the evening of your wedding, with a wonderfully comfortable Superking size bed, in room bath tub and separate dressing area.

Yes, as part of your wedding hire you will have the use of 10 en-suite bedrooms for you and your guests.

There are a number of wonderful B&B's close by as well as local hotel chains. The closest accommodation on Air B&B is opposite the hotel!
